CENTRAL TEACHER ELIGIBILITY TEST UNIT (CTET) – SEPTEMBER 2016

  1. The Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi will be conducting the 10th Edition of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) on 18-09-2016 (Sunday) for a candidate to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for class I to VIII. Candidates can apply only On-Line for CTET-SEPT 2016 on CTET website – www.ctet.nic.in
  2. IMPORTANT DATES :
    Submission of On-line application : 22.06.2016 to 18.07.2016
    Last Date for submission of fee through E-challan or Debit/Credit Card : 19.07.2016 (Before 3:30 PM)
    Final status of Candidates-Check Status & Particulars of candidates whose fees received : 20.07.2016
    Period for On-line Corrections in Particulars (No correction will be allowed in any particulars after this date) : 20.07.2016 to 25.07.2016
    Download Admit Card from CTET website(www.ctet.nic.in ) : 17.08.2016
  3. SCHEDULE OF EXAMINATION :
    18.09.2016: Paper-I 14:00 to 16:30 Hours (2:30 Hours)
    18.09.2016: Paper-II 09:30 to 12:00 Hours (2:30 Hours)
  4. Applicability :
    1.The CTET shall apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT’s of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi.
    2.CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.
    3.Schools owned and managed by the State Government/local bodies and aided schools shall consider the TET conducted by the State Government. However, a State Government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the State TET
    4.According to CBSE Affiliation Bye-Law 53, prescribing the minimum qualifications for teachers to teach various subjects in Classes I to VIII in the schools Affiliated to CBSE stands amended to that extent and it shall be mandatory that the teachers appointed hereinafter i.e. 6th March 2012 to teach classes I to VIII in the Schools affiliated to the CBSE shall qualify/pass the Central Teacher Eligibility Test or Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), conducted by the appropriate Central/ State Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE for this purpose.

  6. Fees:
    General/OBC :
    Rs.600/-(Only Paper – I or II)
    Rs.1000/-(Both Paper – I & II)
  7. SC/ST/Differently Abled Person:
    Rs.300/-(Only Paper – I or II)
    Rs.500/-(Both Paper – I & II)
  8. Admit Card:
    1.The candidates may download their admit cards from CTET website from 17.08.2016 onwards and appear for the examination at the given Centre. In case of any discrepancy in the particulars of the candidate or his/her photograph and signatures shown in the admit card and Confirmation Page the candidate may immediately contact CTET for necessary correction.
    2.In case confirmation page not generated, the candidate should approach the Assistant Secretary, CTET Unit, CBSE between 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. from 20.07.2016 to 25.07.2016 giving proof of the of the payment of fees either through Bank Challan or through Credit/Debit Card for considering his/her candidature for CTET - SEP 2016 examination
  9. Qualifying Marks And Award Of CTET Certificate :
    The candidates appearing in CTET will be issued Marks Statement. The Candidates securing 60% and above marks will be issued Eligibility Certificate
    1.School Managements (Government, Local bodies, Government aided and unaided) may consider giving concessions to person belonging to SC/ST, OBC, differently abled persons, etc., in accordance with their extant reservation policy.
    2.Qualifying the CTET would not confer a right on any person for recruitment/employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.
